So here we are at the start of a new year. How exciting! Do you have some clarity for 2012? Set any New Years resolutions?

Research shows that for most people New Years resolutions last the age of a fruit fly – 24 hours! The cold reality is that in a couple of days most of us will resume our daily routines and life will quickly return to normality.

A New Year’s resolution is something that goes in one year

                                                           and out the other.

Living the life we love is not something that just happens. It does not just knock on our door and say let me in! It takes a deep understanding of what our passions are, commitment, willingness to let go of fears, judgements about ourselves and whether we are deserving or good enough. It requires developing mental discipline, choosing to live our life on our terms and letting go of what others think.

I know this is not easy… I really pushed myself outside of my comfort zone last year and I’m grateful for the results it produced. What I can tell you is: you are probably overestimating how difficult it will be and underestimating your ability to make it happen.

Anyway, while you are still in reflection mode, give yourself the gift of some meaningful reflection about lessons learnt in 2011 to create a more purposeful 2012.

Get yourself 5 sheets of paper (one for each question) and dedicate some quality thinking time to each of these questions. You’ll be pleased you did!

1. What were your greatest wins, achievements and proudest moments in 2011?

2. What were your biggest let-downs and disappointments in 2011?

3. How did you limit yourself in 2011 and, more importantly, how can you remove those limits in 2012? (be honest)

4. What’s your ‘Call To Adventure,’ the (often hidden) invitation for you to grow, in the answers to the first three questions?

5. How can you apply these insights and information to be more of yourself than ever and make 2012 your most amazing year yet?

If you’d like to share your answers with me, I’d love to witness and celebrate your insights, and if you want to make 2012 your year to “heed your call” and start your Hero’s journey to the life you love check out the “Your Call To Adventure” retreat. Its your chance to stop the struggle, overcome your blocks and make your life a masterpiece.

Meanwhile, as a peek to what’s coming for me, I’ve got some new projects in the works that are really exciting, dynamic and life changing… you’ll be hearing about them soon.

So many blessings to you, as we enter 2012 together, wow, what a year this will be.
