Welcome to Midlife Maverick, a blog that’s dedicated to exploring how midlifers are pursuing personal freedom. Now, let’s start by answering the question what is Midlife Maverick? Let’s look at those two words.

Firstly, Midlife is the bridge that spans the gap between the first half of life and the second half of life. This bridge is really a moving target but generally falls between the ages of 35 and 60 with 40 to 50 at its core. It’s a time when many harbour a deep desire to be something other than what they have become.

Secondly, Maverick – Mavericks are males and females who are unafraid to question the status quo, buck trends or do what is ‘expected.’ They’re approach to life is often viewed as unorthodox, unconventional, rebellious, adventurous, entrepreneurial and fun spirited. Mavericks know that somebody else’s truth may be a lie for them and when their truths aren’t serving them they have the courage to let go and move on. Mavericks are committed to designing and living life on their terms. A life unencumbered by what others think or what society deems to be successful.

So putting to two words together – Midlife Mavericks are sub-culture of midlifers who are not interested in playing by the established rules. They choose to live NOW instead of deferring their vision of the good life until later life. They are in pursuit of their personal freedom. Maybe I should explain what I mean by personal freedom. Personal freedom is fundamentally about choice – a lifestyle choice that’s less defined by external measures but one that emerges from our deepest desires and heartfelt wishes. It’s a power, sometimes dormant in midlifers, that we all posses – a power to make choices that move us in a new, more fulfilling and purposeful direction.

I believe there’s a new game in town and the name of the game is lifestyle design. Lifestyle design is about answering one of life’s big questions, what is the good life and how can I live it now?  In creating the good life vision for ourselves we need to take into account four critical factors: Personal & Health, Love & Relationships, Lifestyle & Leisure, and Work & Wealth. When we reframe our vision of the good life and align our priorities we naturally recover a new sense of being alive.

Is Midlife Maverick for you? Well, if you are age 35 onwards and have a strong desire to free up time and money to do the things and be with the people who matter most, you’re in a ‘village’ of allies. Midlife Maverick sets out to answer the question how to get the life you really want. Have a good look around the site. Read some blog posts, interviews, and stories of midlife mavericks who ARE living life on their terms. If there are blog posts or comments that speak to you, please add your own comments and get involved.

If you want to get off the a QUICK start because your life feels a little out of control at the moment I strongly recommend you sign up for the Live your own life eCourse. It’s completely FREE and it will show you how to step back, regain control, and then purposefully create the future you desire. It’s my proven seven step program and ,by working together, it’ll put you back in the driving seat of life.

So, to conclude this short introduction, if you feel you are ready to STOP listening to others and how they think you should be living your life and ready to START living life on your terms then Midlife Maverick will give you the inspiration, motivation and education to do just that.

I look forward to getting to know you and hearing your story in the “village”

Thanks for listening.

A lovely presentation and explanation of what you do. You sound like such a professional. I just made a video on my blog and it was amateur hour compared to yours. Well done and good luck with your projects.
